Sinclair Law Firm along with Beasley Allen law firm filed a class action against the NFL pension and disability plans over the use of so called race norming in adjusting players’ cognitive disabilities.
Persons with cognitive disabilities need all the help their ‘safety net’ of pension and welfare benefits provide. When the medical community or a plan physician adjusts a person’s cognitive testing score because of skin color or outdated socioeconomic factors, that safety net of benefits is taken away.
The case has progressed in the U.S. District Court of Maryland and on December 5, 2023, the Court appointed Tom Sinclair and Dee Miles to serve the class as Interim Co-Lead Class Counsel for all the players who are in the plans.
